Good evening everyone, my name's Wahyu Wirawan from Indonesia. Now, I want to write something about my precious country, Indonesia.

Do you know Indonesia? I just remembered one of my foreign friends asked me a question.” Indonesia? Where is it? Is it a tropical country? Never heard about that before in my life” .Then I asked her again. “Do you know Bali?” Then she answered “Yes, of course”. That time I realized that my country is still “hiding” from the world. I don’t know why. Since that time, I want to make people around the world know about my country.

Okay, for you who don’t know Indonesia before, I’ll give you some general information.

The name Indonesia derives from the Latin Indus, meaning "India", and the Greek nesos, meaning "island". Indonesia is a country which is located in Southeast Asia and Oceania. Indonesia comprises 17,508 islands, and with an estimated population of around 237 million people, it is the world's fourth most populous country, and has the largest Muslim population in the world. The nation's capital city is Jakarta. This transcontinental country shares land borders with Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Malaysia. Other neighboring countries include Singapore, Philippines, Australia, and the Indian territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Across its many islands, Indonesia consists of distinct ethnic, linguistic, and religious groups. Maybe that’s enough for the introduction.

With its 17,508 islands, Indonesia has become a country which has the largest number of islands in the world. Every island has its unique. Now I’ll tell you the “biggest” islands among 17,508 which are Indonesia has: Sumatra, Java, Bali, Kalimantan, Nusa Tenggara (east and west), Sulawesi, Maluku and Irian jaya (Papua but not Papua Nugini).
